The Bachelor of Arts (Social and Religious Studies) program is
designed to contribute to integral human development, a first national
goal in the PNG Constitution. It is with this understanding that the
program focuses on the education of personal development, social
welfare, counselling skills in the context of social and pastoral ministry,
religious and pastoral aspects of students at undergraduate level so
that they can be holistically grounded to contribute effectively to the
improvement of social, spiritual and pastoral aspects and wellbeing of
populations in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The religious aspect of this
course is based on the Catholic teaching.
The aim of the program is to contribute to the PNG workforce a steady
stream of graduates who are capable of working in the ever expanding
social and religious sectors in PNG.
Unique features
Both programs offer a combination of on-campus and off-campus learning experiences. Off-campus learning experiences include field trips, community-based training, and potential internships.
