Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management

The programme continues to evolve in response to Papua New
Guinea (PNG) government’s vision to develop a vibrant and
knowledge-based sustainable tourism industry that encompasses
community development, hospitality, travel and events. Graduating
students who are critical, analytical and eager to contribute to
nation building through tourism that is fair and morally conscious.
Graduates are prepared to both provide better tourism services
through strategic competent management and, creatively develop
a better tourism industry.


The programme aims to prepare graduates as professionals,
acting in stewardship for the betterment of the tourism society and
tourism world by providing modes of study for both reflection and
action, in a Christian environment. Graduates are able to deliver
high quality guest experiences with the potential of being
entrepreneurs.

FUTURE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates in the program will find jobs such as Hotel Managers,
Tourism Consultants, Events Coordinators, Customer Service
Coordinators, Tour Operators, Community Development
Officers/Coordinators, Travel Consultants, Marketing Coordinators,
Researchers, Administration Officers/Managers, Business Centre
Executives and Human Resource Officers

Entry Requirements

Entry into the programme, students will need to have a “B” grade of
better in Language and Literature and other grade 12 subjects
taken. A ‘C’ grade or better is required for students taking up
Mathematics A
